Kathmandu (Tribhuvan Domestic Airport) - Lukla (Tenzing–Hillary Airport) - Everest View Hotel - Same flight pattern while returning

From Kathmandu domestic airport, we take off and fly toward the Lukla airport (2,846 m/9,337 ft). The flight offers gorgeous aerial mountain scenery. We take a small halt at Lukla airport to refuel the helicopter and once again fly to Everest View Hotel. 

Here, we enjoy some time relishing the stunning mountain views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Thamserku, Pumori, Ama Dablam, etc, and enjoy a scrumptious breakfast.

After having breakfast and taking some pictures, we board the helicopter and fly over Khumbu Glacier before descending to Lukla to refuel the chopper. The last 45 minutes flight will take us back to Kathmandu.

Autumn and spring are the two best seasons for helicopter tours in the Everest region. The fine weather with bright and breezy days in these two seasons is perfect to fly to Hotel Everest View to enjoy a delicious breakfast. There is no unexpected rainfall and fog to disrupt the views. 

As we fly in the morning, the captivating views of the mountains, lush green valleys, hills, and villages are phenomenal. Autumn (October to November) and spring (March to April) have a moderate climate. Therefore you do not have to wear bulky clothes. The region welcomes seasonal vegetation and flowers, making the region extremely beautiful. 

You can go on a helicopter tour to Everest View Hotel in winter too, from December to February. We do not assure guaranteed flights in winter though, because of unstable weather conditions mostly. Helicopter to Everest view hotel route

Our venture to the Hotel Everest View in a helicopter begins from Kathmandu early in the morning. We'll receive you from your hotel lobby and drop you at Kathmandu's domestic airport terminal. There will be a small briefing session by the flight instructor. You can ask your queries during the briefing without any hesitation. 

After that, we meet with the pilot and gradually board the helicopter. We do all the safety check marks and take off from Kathmandu airport. Right after takeoff, stunning Ganesh Himal and Mt. Gaurisankar comes into our perspective. Flying over the lush green hills and villages, we ascend towards Lukla airport (2,846 m/9,337 ft). From Kathmandu to Lukla, helicopter flight time is 45 minutes. 

We'll land at Lukla airport for 15 minutes to refuel the chopper. In the meantime, you can stretch and look around. The flight then continues to the Hotel Everest View. We fly over the Sherpa villages like Phakding (2,610 m/8,562 ft) and Namche Bazaar (3,440 m/11,290 ft). From the helicopter, these villages look charming. Likewise, the surrounding views of the snow-capped Himalayan mountains and hills are equally tempting. 

At Everest View Hotel (3,962 m/13,000 ft), we spend some time exploring around and then order our delicious breakfast. After having breakfast and enjoying the mountain views, we board a helicopter to fly back to Kathmandu. This time we fly over the Khumbu Glacier and take a close look up at giant mountains like Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Ama Dablam, etc.
